ICloud Drive under Windows 10 stuck on sync pending

Using iCloud Drive for Windows on MacBook Air (Windows 10, 22H2). iCloud Drive is stuck at “sync pending”. Task Manager shows very little iCloud activity (modest CPU usage; no network traffic). For a time, though, iCloud was driving the CPU over 50%, but with no network traffic. Using BootCamp. Have 2TB iCloud Drive with about 90% free space. Running under Family Sharing. MacOS version 11.7.1 (back-level due to application software requirements). iCloud Drive works fine for MacOS and iOS devices.

I have:

. Rebooted any number of times.

. Signed out of and back into iCloud for Windows - no difference.

. Uninstalled and re-installed iCloud for Windows - no difference.

For now, workaround is to drag files to an iCloud Drive browser window (iCloud.com). This works for getting files from Windows into Drive for use under MacOS.

I am in contact with Apple Support, and will update this topic as things evolve. In the meantime, any suggestions welcomed!

I have to amend my previous post. I now believe that the uninstall/re-install sequence has fixed the problem. Using the iCloud tray icon status, I can see that iCloud has exited sync pending (during which time it was enumerating the files it needed to transfer) and is now actually syncing. Not quickly, but still it does appear to be working.

Will report back if/when sync completes.
