Time Machine "Restore to..." Doesn' Work

Since updating to Ventura, Time Machine's "Restore to..." function doesn't work like it used to. It doesn't show me a dialog to select a folder (that's what the ellipsis means), it just starts copying everything to the original folder. And there's NO WAY to cancel the copy that I can find. I've had to force quit the Finder a few times.

Is it still possible to restore from a backup without overwriting the original? If so, how?

If there is already a file by the same name, when you choose "Restore to..." you will see a dialog like this one:

Choose "Keep Both". The file that you had will be renamed by adding "(original)" after the name.
