Printing issue after installing Monterey

I have the same printing issue after installing the Monterey. The printer is not printing what the document sent to it. It is a group of meaningless symbols. I tried to delete and reinstall the printer but is still not working.

Hi,

Also, the Samsung Xpress M2885FW is listed as supported in About AirPrint - Apple Support. An AirPrint-enabled printer is compatible with macOS (Monterey), and can be used without additional drivers, provided that the printer and the Mac are connected to the same network (Wi-Fi router).

You may have to reset the printing system and re-add the printer to use AirPrint. See the following articles for details:

Reset the printing system on your Mac to solve a problem – Apple Support (UK)

Add a printer to your printer list so you can use it on Mac – Apple Support (UK)

AirPrint works with wireless (Wi-Fi) or wired (Ethernet) network connections. Since the M2885FW has an Ethernet port (in addition to Wi-Fi), you could choose to wire the printer to one of the LAN ports of the Wi-Fi router instead of using a wireless connection.

If there is a problem with AirPrint device discovery, you could try the following procedure (in this order, with these waiting times): Power off the Wi-Fi router, the printer, the Mac, and all other connected devices/computers. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the router. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the printer. Wait a minute or two. Power on the Mac. Finally, power on all other devices/computers.

Kindly obtain printer's model number, brand name, etc from behind & front of the printer,

then post it as a reply to your own message.

Sometime pressing the Print button for 10 seconds, will a print-out a paper that has all printer related info, you may try that as well.

Do not post s/n, password, public ip-address, or your email address, or other info that can identify a person, or do not post such info that is considered private/personal, etc.

it appears you may have selected/installed an incorrect printer driver for your printer, ( as you said its printing group of meaningless symbols ).

If other simple file are also not printing, which you know you printed earlier, then its incorrect printer driver.

if only one file is not-printing , then that file has incorrect data

or file-format is different, & file type need to be set.

Also try to post info on, what printing protocol you use to print, or printer is set to use what protocol ?

then obtain the "HP Universal Print and Scan Driver(UPD) for MacOS for Samsung printers" from there,

or here is a direct link : https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/SS/Print_Common_SW/Samsung_Mac_Driver_V3.93.06.dmg ( filesize: 28.2 MB ).
