Wiping my iphone SE

My daughter's iphone SE has a motherboard that was fried. We used our iPhone insurance to get a replacement phone and are now trying to wipe it before returning it but it keeps crashing before we can wipe it. Any suggestions?

If the motherboard is damaged, you cannot wipe it. But no need to worry, a phone with a damaged motherboard cannot be accessed by anyone. The data on the phone is encrypted anyway.
