Cannot group text with Android

I recently upgraded from an 11 Pro to a 14 Pro (about 1 week ago). Since getting my 14 Pro, I am unable to group text with groups that contain Android users. I also cannot receive photo messages from Android users. I checked my settings and followed every instruction I could find online and on Apple Support… to no avail. My MMS and group messaging is on. My network appears to be fine. I restarted my phone. Any tips or feedback please?

If your carrier is Verizon: When you activate an iPhone 14 on Verizon their automated system does not set up MMS correctly. To fix it you need to call Verizon tech support (611 on your phone), tell the nice representative who answers that you need to speak to a senior tech to fix a problem with the provisioning of MMS on your account. This is a universal problem with the iPhone 14 provisioning by Verizon, so the tech should know how to fix it. And hopefully the 1st tier reps will eventually learn also.

Seems Android users may need you to have cellular data turned on, if wi-fi can not be used.

(You may need to check your cellular plan with your provider.)

learn how to turn cellular data on or off for all apps or individual apps.

Use cellular data on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

What is the difference between iMessage and SMS/MMS? – Apple Support

Seems if wi-fi (blue message bubble) is not available for any reason,

then messages are sent over cellular (green message bubble).

As cellular is often necessary (eg: for sending messages to Android phones),

having it turned off for messages is generally not practical.

Hope this helps :-)

okay wacky fix....if you have a verizon account......follow this.

  1. go into your verzion account.
  2. select account
  3. go into my plan... blocks
  4. select the right line and phone.
  5. select block services
  6. toggle on block picture and video messaging . Let this save for a few minutes like this.
  7. Then toggle the above back to off again. Sit for a few minutes like this.
  8. Then power down phone and back on again.

This will hopefully fix the issue. It did mine. Good luck!
