Canceling a subscription but it won’t let me like I’m trying to remove my card from my phone but it won’t let me it says there an active subscription when there isn’t

You can only remove your payment info with ongoing subscriptions, if you add the new information before you delete the old one.
Or redeem an Apple Gift Card, if you don't want to add a new credit card information.
