Thank you for the information.

You could perhaps try the HP 5.1.1 Printer Software Update and something like the HP LaserJet Professional M1210nf MFP Series version 1.8 driver listed in the article Printer and scanner drivers for Mac - Apple Support. This may or may not work with macOS 12 Monterey (which is excluded by the System Requirements). Look upon it as an experiment, and make sure that you have backup copies of all important files (software conflicts cannot be ruled out).

Also, it may be a good idea to reset the printing system between tests.

Also, the printer is not mentioned in About AirPrint - Apple Support (en-us edition December 13, 2022) or any other recent issue of that article. However, it is interesting to note that an HP LaserJet Pro M1217nfw MFP was listed in a very old (February 13, 2012) iOS: AirPrint 101 (HT4356) Apple article as a model that supports AirPrint. An early AirPrint/firmware version? You could perhaps carry out a test with AirPrint (with the printer wired by Ethernet cable to one of the LAN ports of a Wi-Fi router). Generally speaking, AirPrint should not require additional (printer) drivers, and can be used with wireless (Wi-Fi) or wired (Ethernet) network connections.

Hi budman1932,

HP's support page for the HP Officejet 6700 Premium e-All-in-One Printer series - H711 has a reference to HP Easy Start (when macOS 12 or 13 has been selected):

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-officejet-6700-premium-e-all-in-one-printer-series-h711/4322971

If this for some reason does not work, you could perhaps have a look at my previous reply (above) about the HP 5.1.1 Printer Software Update from Apple. An HP Officejet 6700 driver version 4.2.2 is listed in the article.

If necessary, try a network connection (Ethernet or wireless) instead of USB, or vice versa.

Good to hear that printing via USB works. Have you tried Ethernet to one of the LAN ports of a (Wi-Fi) router, and a wireless connection as well?

Sorry, cannot help you regarding scanning. I do not know where a compatible driver can be found. A quick search indicates that a third-party application called VueScan does not appear to support your printer for Mac.
