iCloud - Data recovery not restoring deleted files?

Hi all,

I accidentally deleted a lot of files from iCloud (very, very long story). I went into Restore Files under Settings > Data Recovery. It "thought" for a long time, then I got a "the files were not able to be restored" error message as shown below. (I've tried six times lol).

Already tried: Restarting macbook, logging out of iCloud and back in, using different browser.

As a side note - it's saying the files only have one day left before permanent deletion, even though I deleted them yesterday.

Has anyone else encountered this issue / found a solution?

(And no, I don't have a hard drive backup. That wasn't working either - another long story.)

Check the trash on your MacBook. Any files that you delete in iCloud should appear there too. You can recover from trash.
