I keep deleting emails from my archive folder but they don’t stay deleted! How do I fix this?

The way I understand it:

Archive means keep the e-mails ...

Delete usually means keep for a set length of time (settings) before deleting.

If necessary:

You might want to try moving the archived eMails back to the inbox, or "recover" them, and delete them from there.
