Hi. When you drag down from the top of your iPhone where you will see all the different icons. You look at the icon below the wifi icon, the one which have have a rotating arrow with a lock image, when it is not selected which means the icon is not turn on (not white), the portrait orientation lock is off and you can rotate your screen. If it is on, you will not be able to rotate the screen
