I an not sure how your post title and text relate, so I'll only address the text part:

"I just wanna update my phone"

Assuming your phone is the 6s shown in your equipment line, It can run up to iOS 15.X. It cannot run iOS 16, the current version.

You use the instructions here:

That will install the latest OS version compatible with your phone, whihc should be iOS 15.7.2
