Hi, for other reasons I deleted my TM backups by erasing the 2tb disk and run "repair" in disk utility, then started a new TM backup of 450gb. The "preparing to backup" has taken more than 24hrs and is still in that process.
I know thats a lots of files, photos, music, etc, but is that a normal length of time to prepare backup?
Any info appreciated

I stopped the backup, erased the disk and ran "repair" again on disk utility then tried again. "prepare backup" ran for 4 hours and it's now backing up with est. 10 hours to run.
This can be normal, but if it will take up to 48 hours, cancel the backup and try again
