Go Here: If you Hear No Sound or Distorted Sound from your iPhone. Seems, the most obvious solution is enabling the Ring/Silent switch.

What to Try:

Check: your sound settings
Check: sound with an app
Plug: headphones into your device
Turn off: Bluetooth
Restart: your device
