as menu bar items extend to left they go under the notch instead of jumping to the left of it. this makes them invisible. It's as if the OS doesnt know the notch is there. How can we fix this?

We'd be happy to help out. If you have menu bar items that exceed the amount of space available to the right of the notch, it's expected for the excess menu bar items to be hidden. While you can drag visible ones into the notch area to gain access to ones you can't currently see, this is really more of an opportunity to provide feedback on such behavior using this link: Product Feedback - Apple
