Trackpad non-responsive to pinching / specific gestures

Since updating to MacOS Ventura, I was occasionally experiencing buggy trackpad that did not respond to certain gestures, e.g. pinch to zoom / swiping back in webpages. It would persist for like a few minutes then returned to normal, but for several times a day.

The issue occurred with both Apple apps (e.g. pages / quick look) and 3rd party apps (e.g. word / notability). Hardware was found to be operating normally with SMC / PRAM reset done before. Anyone is experiencing similar issues? Any fix to the problem?

Can you verify your software is up to date…

The current stable release of Ventura including bug fixes, security updates is macOS Ventura 13.2
