How to delete a payment method

If you want to delete your payment method, make sure you don't have any ongoing subscriptions. If you have, then you cannot delete your payment method.

If you do not have any ongoing subscriptions, go directly to point number 3.

To check subscriptions, go to:

Settings -> Apple ID (Your name) -> Subscriptions.

If you have any active ones - they must be canceled first.

If you have an iCloud+ subscription, this must also be canceled before a payment method can be deleted.

To cancel iCloud+, go to:

Settings -> Apple ID (Your Name) -> iCloud -> Manage Subscription -> Downgrade Options -> Select Free (5GB)

To delete your payment method, go to:

Settings -> Apple ID (Your name) -> Payment and Delivery.

Tap Edit in the top right corner and delete the payment card you want.

Deleting a Method of Payment:

Add then Delete:

You need at least one method of payment assigned to your account. So, add the method of payment first, and then delete this method of payment. Go here: Change, Add, or Remove Apple ID Payment Methods - Apple Support

It may be different from country to country. But in Denmark there is no requirement that you have a payment method associated with your Apple ID, so all cards can be deleted from the overview here.
