Why can’t I hear when a droid phone sends me a text message anymore?
Why can’t I hear a ringtone when a droid phone texts my iPhone anymore? I am only able to hear when another iPhone person texts me. Why is this?

mmm ... seems you may need to add or change a setting someplace.
iPhone can only act as set.
Seems messages to and from Android phones use cellular data (green bubbles),
while Apple to Apple messages come and go using wi-fi (blue bubbles).
To manage notifications for messages:
Change message notifications on iPhone – Apple Support
Different ringtones may (or may not) be set for different people in your Contacts.
