iPad apps won’t open, cannot reset iPad

I have an iPad Air Gen 4 and randomly none of my apps, including the App Store, Settings, Safari, and any other iOS apps could open. I tried to restart my iPad to fix the problem, but every time I try it won’t let me slide to power off. The most I can currently do is access my control center and swipe out to see all of the apps I’ve opened, but I can’t exit out of it or close/enter any apps. Has anyone else had this problem or does anyone know how to fix it?

Perform a forced-restart of your iPad - as this will usually clear an isolated software issue:

Force restart iPad (models with Face ID or with Touch ID in the top button)

If your iPad doesn’t have the Home button, do the following:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume button nearest to the top button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume button farthest from the top button.
  3. Press and hold the top button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the top button.

Force restart iPad (models with the Home button)

Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
