It is not possible to deactivate two factor authentication if the function has been activated for more than two weeks.

To turn it off, open your confirmation email and click the link to return to your previous security settings. Since you have a “new” AppleID, 2FA can NOT be turned “off.”

The de-activation process to which JS-fromDK referred was for older “legacy” AppleIDs which were in-service before 2FA was available.

So, since you’re using 2FA going-forward, suggest you carefully read and understand what’s contained in these two documents:
