How do I determine if my mac has malware?

I ran the tool and it says I have no malware; however, I keep getting these popups on my Mac. One specifically says Pornographic Virus Detected. It has a link in the box to click, which I refuse to click. Does this sound familiar?
Those are scams, not malware. Dismiss and ignore them.

Is there a way to disable them? Are they not dangerous?
1. Avoid visiting the websites which produce them.
2. Not by themselves. The links they provide are likely dangerous if followed.
