Will these apps load normally if you double click on the apps themselves rather than the shortcuts? Is this happening with Apple-created apps, 3rd party apps or both? Are the apps installed in the Applications folder or elsewhere? How much available storage is there on your storage drive? Did this issue begin after a system update or other change to your Mac? When you say the apps crash, are they appearing to start normally but then fail, or do they completely fail to load?

It might help you describe what problems you are having.
