Sharing Files between Mac Mini M2 and iMac (2015)

I'm making my primary computer a Mac Mini M2. It's replacing a 2015 iMac. Using the wireless network in my home...

1) Can I keep the iMac 'on' and logged in to my local wireless network in order to access iMac files, folders, apps from the Mac Mini?

2) Can I put a iMac on a timer, let's say 8AM-11PM daily, when I could access files/folders when working on the Mini?

3) From the Mac Mini how would I identify folders/files on iMac?

Thanks in advance for guidance.

1. Yes.

2. Set it up in the Energy Saver pane of System Preferences. You may find it easier to put the content on the Mac mini's internal drive or use a NAS drive instead.

3. They'll be in a separate volume.
