The macOS version you can upgrade to is dependent on the year your Mac was released.

Click the "More Info..." button in the window that you posted to find your Mac model and year.

An early 2009 iMac can be upgraded to El Capitan 10.11.6 but no later version.

A late 2009 thru mid 2011 iMac can be upgraded to High Sierra 10.13.6 but no later version.

A late 2012 thru late 2013 iMac can be upgraded to Catalina 10.15.7 but no later.

If your Mac dos not qualify for any of these older macOS versions, there is no fix. To upgrade, you will have to obtain a newer Mac.

Back up your data, check the application compatibility table, click here, and then on the download link for a more-recent OS. That model's maximum one is Catalina.

Catalina and higher won't run 32-bit software; if you upgrade to one of them, use Go64 as well.

D.I. Johnson: For reference, a Mac model running 10.8 through 10.10 automatically qualifies for El Capitan.
