Cannot sign in to Apple TV!!

I have a 3-4 month old Sony Bravia Smart TV and can-NOT sign into Apple TV!!! I have changed my Apple password many, many times in order to do so, yet keep getting a “verification failed” each time. I know my Apple ID and password are correct because I can sing into the Apple TV app from my phone as well as other items that require my Apple ID. I reset the App and still get the “Sign In” or “Sign up” screen when I go back into the App and either get the “Create an account, then finish signing in on this device” or “sign in with remote”. I already HAVE an account..and then when I sign in with my remote, get “Verification failed”. I have gone to my Apple TV settings to try and sign in from there under Account settings..yet STILL the same result!!! CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME?!!!
