cracked back glass
I was looking to trade in an old iPhone, however the back glass of the phone is cracked. Otherwise, the phone works in perfect condition. I was wondering if the cracked back glass would de-value the iPhone when I trade in.

Yes it will. An iPhone with broken glass will render it worthless, Apple won't give you anything for a broken phone.
