Do I really need an adapter to use an iPad pencil (1st generation) for the iPad 6?

I was wondering if I can still use the iPad 6 without an adapter?is the adapter necessary or it it optional? I know you can charge the pencil via iPad but does it affect the functionality of the pencil?

No, you do not need an adapter. The adapter is required for the 10th Generation iPad only, since it does not have a Lightning port, and an adapter is required to connect the Pencil's lighting connector to the iPad's USB-C port for pairing and charging.

The 6th Generation regular iPad has a Lightning port, so no adapter is necessary.
