Screenshot directly to file?

Whenever I make a screenshot, the file appears for a few seconds at the end of my screen before getting saved to my drive. This is very disturbing for my workflow; seems like a solution for kids and not for professionals. Is there a setting anywhere where this "preview" "feature" can be turned off? In previous OS versions, the file was saved immediately.

See: Take screenshots or screen recordings on Mac - Apple Support

In Options, set the location to Desktop and disable Show Floating Thumbnail.
