My iPhone won’t link to my iPad. They are on the same Wi-Fi network and keynote is open on both devices.

I’m attempting to use my iPhone as a remote for keynote. I’m on the same Wi-Fi and keynote is open on both devices but they won’t recognize each other.. What are the next steps?

Keynote Remote won't connect after updating to Sequoia and iOS18 I have a MacBook Pro 2018 (Intel) and an iPhone 12 Pro. I always use Keynote Remote on my iPhone when giving presentations using my Mac, which has always worked perfectly. However, now Keynote Remote doesn't connect to my Mac. This correlates with me now having updated to Sequoia on my Mac and iOS 18 on my iPhone, which I did only a few weeks ago. I'm now using macOS 15.2 and iOS 18.2. When I press the remote icon in Keyonte on my iPhone, I get an error warning and the text "Make sure Keynote is open on [my name]'s MacBook Pro and that your devices are on the same Wi-Fi network." This never happened before. I have made sure that my Mac and my iPhone indeed are on the same network, and on both devices I have made sure in Settings → Privacy & Security that Keynote is allowed to communicate with devices on the local network. On my Mac, my iPhone is visible in Keynote settings → Remote. I have tried to unlink and then re-link using Apple's guidelines (Use Keynote Remote to control your Keynote presentation - Apple Support) which at first seems to work smoothly; I get the verification code just as expected, but the instant I confirm it the same error message appears ("Make sure Keynote is open on [my name]'s MacBook Pro and that your devices are on the same Wi-Fi network."). I have also tried going via Handoff, which also yields the same error message. To make sure this isn't related to the network settings at my workplace, I have also tested all these steps at home, with the same lack of results. Does Keynote Remote in Sequoia/iOS 18 not support Intel Macs? Any help is highly appreciated!
