can iPad with IOS16 be used as a home hub?

Potentially - no…


iPad is no longer supported as a home hub on the new, more reliable and more efficient Apple Home architecture. If you are using the new architecture (recent versions of iOS/iPadOS16), your iPad will not be usable as a Home Hub. For new architecture, your will require a HomePod or AppleTV to act as the Home Hub.
