Missing app in app store
An app I bought through the app store is no longer showing in my purchases, there are no files in the hidden folder. Short of having to buy it again, how do I re install it?
iMac 24″, macOS 13.3

Have you check in Finder -> Apps?
Or:
Click Launchpad (from the Dock) and search the app.
Or:
Start Apple Store -> tap your profile (bottom left).
In the right pane you see all purchases.
Or:
Start App Store -> tap Store -> View my account -> Login (if prompted).
In the right pane you see all purchases.

One more check for the 'old' version:
In Finder -> my Home folder I have a Download folder. Contains a folder named Software download. When I download an app, the downloaded app is placed there.
If I want to download the new one, I will have to pay the full purchase price.
That is possible, some apps when they are upgraded by the app developer you have to pay again.
There are 'only' few apps with a lifetime license.
Thank you very much for your swift answer to my problem. Unfortunately, I still have the problem. If I click on the app icon in finder, I get the message, 'MacFamilyTree 9 is damaged and can't be opened. Delete MacFamilytree9 and download it again from the App store'. I've tried deleting it and using Time Machine to re-install it, but that has the same result. It works on my MacBook still, but not on my iMac. The version I bought through the App Store has been superceded by a later version, if all else fails, I'll buy that.
Thank you again for your suggestions.
Thank you again for your help, I think I worded my last post wrongly. When I said that the app was on my macbook, I meant that it hadn't stopped working on it. Not that I was able to re-install it from the App Store.
I meant that it hadn't stopped working on it.
If the app is still working on your MacBook then you have the app installed on your MacBook.
As posted:
If you use the same Apple ID on your MacBook and your iMac, you can download the app on your iMac free from the App Store.
Have you try?

But the app doesn't appear in my app purchases, the new one is in the app store, not the old one. If I want to download the new one, I will have to pay the full purchase price.
