what Flashdrive would you recommend for macbook pro storage?
I want to back up my Mac Book Pro onto a flash drive. I have about 500gb of storage. What drive should I use?

You should not use a flash drive for backups at all, because they are not robust enough for long-term storage.
Time machine does its work at low priority in the background, so do not pay extra for a drive that is FAST. That converges quickly to a rotating magnetic drive in an enclosure, or a cheap but large all-in-one drive.
