Cannot sync Sent with Sent Items in iPhone with IMAP

I have an iPhone running 16.3.1 and connect to an IMAP server. In setting up the mail client, in Advanced, I set the Sent Mailbox to Sent Items on my server. If I exit out of Advanced and go back it appears to be correctly set to Sent Items. However, if I say Done and go back, the Sent Mailbox has been set to Sent, not Sent Items.

There is a Sent folder on the server, not the one I use for Outlook; however the Sent folder on my iPhone will now no longer sync with it.

This process is valid for all mails, AOL, Google, Yahoo, Outlook, Hotmail, Exchange etc etc

  1. Keep your email id and password handy
  2. Use this link to find out your Incoming and Outgoing server settings by entering your email address
