Hello,
I think I remember a new "Family" calendar automatically showing up under my iCloud account after I created the Family Group. As the Organizer of the Family Sharing I may have enabled it during initial set-up but I am not sure of that. I cannot find a Family Sharing setting about it but did find the language in the below Apple Support article that makes me think you would just need to create a shared calendar called "Family." The one I have isn't anything different than other shared iCloud calendars but I am not currently sharing my iCloud+ subscription with the Family which may effect this somehow. .
