Is there a way to delete a message on my iPad and keep it on my iPhone and iCloud?

I want to delete message from iPad but keep on iPhone and iCloud.

My iPad 5th Gen (2017) only has 32gb memory. The message app is taking too much space. On the iPad it shows as 12gb. but on iPhone it only shows as it being 5gb. Shouldn't they be the same?

Can I delete message from the iPad only without deleting them from my other devices or iCloud?

@LotusPilot This is a confused half-answer. The issue is not one of synchronizing, but freeing up local space. They clearly do not want to isolate their iPad from their other devices, but free up local space. Your answer would lock them out of using Messages on the iPad, basically.

If you do not want or require your Messages to be synchronised between your devices, you simply need to disable Messages in iCloud on your iPad:

Settings > [Your Name / AppleID] > iCloud > Messages - set to OFF

Once you have disabled iCloud Messages for your iPad, you can safely delete Messages from the iPad without the deletions being synchronised with your iPhone.
