Time Machine files deleted from the Finder

I upgraded my operating system. In preparation to make sure I had enough space I made the mistake of deleting two years of old Time Machine backups in my finder. When the computer came back on the hard disc was completely full of files called Other. How do I delete them?

Time Machine files cannot be deleted through ordinary means. Use Finder to access your trash can, and see if you can “put back” the Time Machine files, using a control-click on the Time Machine files.

Otherwise, you now have more room and fewer or no backups, so the upgrade should go faster.
