can't cancel apple care on my phone and my sons

Can anyone help me with the above problem.

Last year I bought 2 new iPhones and got Apple care for them both, 1 is for my son and the other for me. I got them in USA (but dont live in USA). Each month I get the receipt for both AppleCare subscriptions, but Im not wanting to continue with it. But when i go to my subscriptions they aren't linked, the receipts dont show my apple ID but do show my email address.


I have tried linking them to my appleID following the link on the emails but it won't let me, it says to check my country, which is correctly set up for where I live.

So far I am unable to cancel them.


Can anyone help me as Im stuck with AppleCare that I am trying to cancel.

Did you change Apple IDs when you moved to a different country?

How exactly did you get Apple Care for them then?

Is the email address they show different from the one for your current Apple ID?

An Apple ID is an email address. If they are tied to a different one, then you would need to log in to the Apple ID that is using that email address and not the one you are currently using.

Thanks for the replies.


I called Apple. 45 minute call and 2 transfers later AppleCare is hopefully cancelled.

Similar as Babowa mentioned,

when I was on holiday in USA and purchased the phones and subscribed to Applecare. I wasn’t told that they are only valid for the country of purchase, as such I had to be directed to Apple in USA to cancel them as they couldn’t link to my AppleID which is registered in my home country in Europe.
