Battery drains while sitting idle after charging.

My MacBook Air M1 will drain some battery after unplugging charger. I plug in after using. After 12 hours of charging I unplug charger. And leave it sit. When I log in after a week of sitting I have only 86 to 90% battery. Can I set some so battery stays charged, or do I need to login and shutdown after charging?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 13.3

I do shut down using the Apple icon before plugging in to charge.

I'm sorry, I misunderstood. I understood that you did not shut down because of your statement "...or do I need to login and shutdown after charging?" Are you using battery health management? If so: "battery health management may reduce your battery's maximum charge when in this mode". See About battery health management in Mac laptops - Apple Support

If your computer is not shut down then it will use battery unless it is plugged in. Why not just leave it plugged in? Leaving it plugged in will not damage the computer or the battery.
