Delete button not repeatedly deleting

Check System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard tab > Delay Until Repeat.

Adjust the slider to a shorter delay time.

What app? Works as expected in Word and Script Editor. At least the larger delete key labeled simply "Delete" does.

Have you restarted? If not, do so and test.
