No Receipt provided for iPad purchase.

I recently purchased an iPad from my local Apple store. The iPad was not in stock so the salesman went to a nearby computer and ordered one to be delivered three days later. I assumed he was asking that one be delivered from his area distribution canter, but learned that Apple considers this to be an "on line" order, which placed the purchase in a different category. My opinion was that I had made an in-store purchase, but Apple considered it as an "on line purchase." The salesman did not explain that to me.

I was not given a receipt, and have never received an actual receipt at any time.

I also purchased "Apple Care" for the iPad and in addition, I traded in my old iPad.

When added to the initial purchase, there were now three transactions:

  • Purchase of the iPad to be delivered. (No receipt.)
  • Purchase of Apple Care, for which I was issued a receipt.
  • Trade-in on my old iPad, for which I received a receipt..

Never at any time was I ever presented with a real receipt for the iPad I had purchased, even after I made several calls to Apple Support and made an actual trip to the Apple store

I was told that I should save all the paperwork associated with the three transactions, and that together they formed my receipt.

I am well familiar with what a true receipt looks like, and I still have no real receipt for the iPad.

I do have the statement from my credit card company, which is the only proof showing the date and the amount I paid for the product.

This is extremely strange.

Since it was designated an “online” purchase, you should have received an email receipt. (That’s how I’ve always received my receipts.) Please check your Junk mail in case it went there. If you do not see it, try this method to check your Apple hardware purchase history:

  1. Tap here to go to the online store —> Apple online store.
  2. Tap on the item from the list that appears.
  3. You should be able. To view or print the invoices from there.

As it seems you have guessed, the CC receipt is not enough because it does not have the item’s serial number on it. Let us know if this works, please.

The following may help, from Viewing & Changing Orders - Shopping Help - Apple

View or Print Invoice

Once an item is shipped or picked up, Apple will create an invoice for your order. To view or print your invoice, go to your Order Listing

(Opens in a new window)

page and select an item to go to the order details. Then, select View Invoice at the top of your order details page to access your invoice.
