Set up alert when air tag gets close?
Hi,
I have an air tag inside a delivery coming soon. I wanted to set up an alert so I get pinged when the delivery moves or gets close (say within five miles).
Is there a way to do this? Thanks!

While AirTags are excellent for keeping track of items, AFAIK, there wasn't a feature that could notify you when an AirTagged item moved or came within a specific range. AirTags primarily work on proximity and can show the distance and direction to your item when you are close. However, you can set the AirTag to "Lost Mode". When an AirTag is in Lost Mode, you receive a notification when it's found, either by coming into the range of your device or being pinged by the vast Find My network.
As a workaround, you could ask the delivery company to scan the AirTag (if they have an iPhone) when the delivery is close. They just need to bring their device close to the AirTag, and a notification will pop up with any information you've chosen to share. This might not be exactly what you were hoping for, but it could be a practical solution.
