recovery contact

how can i see who my recovery contact is, it doesn’t show on my phone or the site. Also, why can’t i add one, everytime i try to its an error message. for MONTHS! my phone is up to date and it’s the 13.. i’ve only had it for a year and half.

iPhone 13, iOS 16

This is similar to adding a contact as described in Help a friend or family member as their account recovery contact - Apple Support


1. Go to Settings

2. Select Password & Security

3. Select Account Recovery or Recovery Assistance

4. Select a person


As for adding one, make sure you meet the requirements in Set up an account recovery contact - Apple Support

If you still can't add a person, contact Apple as suggested at the end of the article.
