Lost the ability in Messages to reply to a specific text message

In the Messages app on iPhone, if you touch and hold a specific text, you can reply directly to it. I've done this lots of times.

But all of a sudden, it doesn't work on my phone. When I touch and hold, the options I get are:

Copy

Translate

Speak

More

No sign of the Reply option. Any thoughts?

I'm on an iPhone SE runnning iOS 16.5.

Hi CT2NY,

A restart of your iPhone could be a good start to trying to resolve this issue. While is seems like a small step, it can resolve many things. Use these steps:

  1. Press and hold the side button until the power-off slider appears.
  2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.
  3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.

You can see those steps here: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

Good luck!
