Transferring back

Hello!

I got a refurbished iphone. Everything transferred to my new phone, but it was having issues so I tried to transfer everything back to my old phone. It got stuck loading, so I restarted the old phone and clicked the manual option. In doing this, I didn't realize my contacts wouldn't be transferred. The sim card is back in my old phone, but still no contacts. It doesn't give me an option to transfer anymore and I don't know what to do.

The nearest apple support is almost an hour away. I don't have much battery life left in the new phone, but am wanting to return it but it still has all my info on it. So I'd like to do that, too.

Turn contacts on with whatever cloud or mail program you use to sync them with.

No data is stored on the sim card.
