iPad storage (iPadOS)

You screenshot would suggest that something is definitely amis. Of your total 512GB, your installed Operating System, Apps and installed data is reportedly occupying almost half of available storage. However, the graphic appears to be in error, suggesting that your storage is full.

Begin with a forced-restart of your iPad - as this will, hopefully, clear any isolated software issues:

Force restart iPad (models with Face ID or with Touch ID in the top button)

If your iPad doesn’t have the Home button, do the following:

1. Press and quickly release the volume button nearest to the top button.
2. Press and quickly release the volume button farthest from the top button.
3. Press and hold the top button.
4. When the Apple logo appears, release the top button.

Force restart iPad (models with the Home button)

Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.

After restarting the iPad, has the storage graphic updated?

Settings > General > iPad Storage

Did you already try to restore your iPad from the latest backup?

This can also help to correct the graph of the iPad Storage, in case this is a software glitch.

On my iPad 6th Gen, the red bar shows the app data and the orange part the size of iOS.

Which would indicate, that you will have to reduce the size of the app data, to gain more free space.

If the problem persists after performing the restart, it may be necessary to reset your iPad settings. While this reset will not cause any loss of data, as a precaution, it is always wise to ensure that you have a current iCloud or iTunes backup before performing the reset:

When you are happy to proceed, you can perform the reset from iPad settings:

Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPad > Reset > Reset All Settings

If this reset settings doesn’t clear the issue, you’ll need to fully reset the iPad - and then restore from the backup already created:

Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPad > Erase All Content & Settings

After this reset, you’ll be prompted to restore from your backup. Alternatively, you can setup the iPad “as new” - and then manually restore your data:

You can see in your screenshot, that most or your space is taken by those three apps mentioned.

You might be able to free up some room on your drive by removing data from the "Files" app, after you saved it to your computer, for example.

Same for the "Drive" folder on your iPad.

After that, they iOS part should be reduced again.
