How to collaborate numbers file with family. I want either wife or me to be able to update a numbers file anytime

Before you start you have to check "Minimum system requirements and iCloud requirements for collaboration", that is listed in the lower section of the page. This must be met by all systems that will collaborate!
Please also read "Features not supported with collaboration", this will prevent headaches if something is not working as normal.
