do I have to change all four slots for upgrading memory

Install memory in an iMac - Apple Support


Some iMac models don’t care, some will perform better with four memory modules of the same speed and capacity.


if you don’t know which iMac you have: Identify your iMac model - Apple Support


And if you’re not comfortable with swapping memory modules pr working with static-sensitive electronic devices, most Apple authorized repair providers should be willing to perform the upgrade for you.
