Cannot see/open certain word files.

Hi guys, I have a problem (Macbook Air M2, 13 inch, Ventura 13.4.1). I have to access word docs on a server. Certain files on the server are visible, but when I try to open them, it says they can’t be found or asks me if I renamed, removed or deleted the file, but this is not the case.... The files can be accessed from a windows PC just fine. Some files are not visible at all. I can only open the files when I e-mail them to myself, but not when I transfer them onto a USB drive that usually works. Then, those files are not even shown to be on the USB drive in finder on mac, but they are visible on my windows pc just fine. I am desperate for help. The files are visible on my iPad. USB drive works just fine on my iPad Pro (11 inch, M1)…

I know it's not the permission on the server as I can access it just fine as well as the USB drive isn't a problem. So it seems to be my mac.

Thank you so much!

MacBook Air, macOS 13.4
