In iOS 16.5.1, the temperature pop-up window in the weather app will not close when you click on the "X" in the upper right-hand corner, and you can only push it down 1 out of 10 tries. The pop-up launches when I try to scroll to see the weather by the hour.

First, please ensure that you hit the “x” button correctly. Since it is rather high, you may not be hitting it correctly while holding your iPhone in a relaxed hold. One may have to stretch the hand a tiny bit, depending on your hand’s size, therefore leading to more misses.
If you take special care to hit the bottom correctly, but the issue persists, please tell Apple about it here: Feedback - Weather - Apple.

It works perfectly for me - every time. Consider the point I make below and adjust the length of time you depress the “X”.
The pop-up launches when I try to scroll to see the weather by the hour.
Launching the pop-up requires prolonged holding down when doing the scrolling across the hours. Use a swifter, less pressurized scrolling motion.
