I'm giving my iPad away and want to wipe it clean. I don't have a new iPad to transfer the current iPad info to. I do have an iPhone and I think everything on the iPad is on my iPhone, is that normal?

As for synchronising your iPad and iPhone, you have likely been using iCloud to sync’ specific data and documents:

You can select which items of data and documents are synchronised from device settings:
Settings > [Your Name / AppleID] > iCloud - enable the Apps and services that you wish to synchronise (on both devices)
