greyed out apple and iCloud icons in safari on MacBook Air?

Can anybody help with my icons not highlighted in safari favorites? I would really appreciate your help thank you Andy

I've never seen my Favorites highlighted at all.

What's your OS version and Safari version? Safari > About Safari to see its version.

If they're grayed out you may need to recreate them. Have you created a new one to determine if it's grayed out? I've never seen this condition either.
